Lost people #2

Orphanage school building on a bright, sunny day

A few years ago, Spike Anderson shared the above photo on his Flickr stream. It’s another St Joseph’s orphanage in New South Wales (ie, not the one in Goulburn). What makes it significant here is Pat Byrnes’ comment on it, asking for help in locating the two sisters of his adopted cousin, Mike Corbet. Mike has found his two brothers, but his sisters remain lost to him. All five kids were in the orphanage.

  1. Jim Corbett (now McCann) became part of our family of 6 children when he was about 8. Jim was originally ‘John’ but our family already had a John. Jim is a great bloke a loving brother and (as Spike says) connects with his two brothers. However, he does not know the whereabouts of two sisters (and later sister Colleen who he never knew). Like one of his brothers he also found one sister when we were camping many years ago and dragged her to our tent with great excitement. She visited once but sadly we lost contact after that. I am one of his McCann sisters.
