Australia’s history of the institutionalisation of young women includes incidents of the forced adoption of babies belonging to umarried mothers. Jennifer Byrne for Network Ten’s The 7pm Project reports on the current Senate Inquiry into these former policies and practices.

  1. I suffered this in 1963 and has caused my family distress all of their lives.We reunited with daughter/sister in 1984 but the injury is continual
