Fare thee well …

by Adele Chynoweth on 14 May, 2019

The blog is now closed. Thank you for trusting the National Museum to tell your history.

Thank you for your courage, generosity, honesty, commitment and tirelessness. Thank you for teaching me – you are brilliant teachers.  Thank you for sharing your triumphs and your disappointments but never your failures, because you have not failed.

You are not Forgotten. You are remembered. Your objects and the history that they tell, are cherished, always, in the Museum’s National Historical Collection. We may have ended our conversation here but what you have written will remain online for all to see.

‘T is not too late to seek a newer world.
……..that which we are, we are,–
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

from ‘Ulysses’ by Alfred Lord Tennyson

Thank you and farewell,
Adele
